In 1978, Veronica was involved in a federally funded research project to evaluate the ROI of workplace fitness and health promotion programs. Veronica’s role in the project was to design a model Canadian employee fitness program at The Canada Life Assurance Company in Toronto.
Veronica’s primary roles with Tri Fit are in the areas of consulting and business development. She has consulted with numerous organizations to develop a business case for a healthy workplace strategy and has worked with many of these organizations through to successful project implementation.
Veronica speaks regularly on the topic of promoting a healthy workplace and has served on numerous task forces and boards. She was an Advisory Board member of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Exercise Science’s and Health Promotion degree program and is currently on the President’s Advisory Board for the University of Guelph’s Health for Life Initiative. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Brampton Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity and is the Region of Peel Co-coordinator of the Shoebox Project for Women in Shelters.
Veronica has published in various journals and newspapers including the Globe and Mail, workplace.ca, The Canadian Safety Reporter, the Canadian HR Reporter and Benefits and Pensions Monitor.
Veronica received a BA in French literature from the University of Victoria and a B.Sc in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa.
Veronica exemplifies wellness in every aspect of her life. She is an avid runner, yoga enthusiast and cyclist. She has participated numerous times in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a fund raiser for the Princess Margaret Hospital as well as the Healing Cycle ride which supports hospice palliative care in Ontario.
