Fitness Programs
Group Exercise Classes
Our staff and volunteer team teach a wide variety of group exercise
classes. Here are just some of the types of classes that our
consultants and Tri Fit trained employee volunteers teach:
- Cardio: step, hi/lo impact, kickbox,
spinning, boot camp and more
- Muscular strength and conditioning:
stability ball, circuit training, ABL (abs, butt and legs), core
conditioning and sport specific conditioning
- Relaxation: stretch and relax
- Speciality classes such as Pilates, yoga, &
Tai Chi.
Fitness Assessments
The fitness and wellness assessment is an important first step in
starting a physical fitness and lifestyle enhancement program. This
initial screening provides employees with important information on
their current fitness and wellness status and helps provide motivation
to get started or maintain a program.
The
Fitness Assessment is based on the
Canadian Society for
Exercise Physiology (CSEP) standards. Tri Fit assessors are certified
through CSEP to conduct assessments. The following parameters are
measured;
- Body composition
- Cardiovascular fitness
- Muscular strength and endurance
- Flexibility
- Leg power
- Back endurance.
Our
fitness assessment software program provides a
computerized
personal report of member results. The program also creates a database,
which allows us to track progress over time. A number of other features
include a membership database, renewal reminders and follow-up system
and member birthday reminders.
Individual Program
Prescription
The Individual Program Prescription
provides employees with a one-hour consultation to review their program
plan and set goals. This session focuses on specific areas of training
such as cardio and strength training, flexibility, back fitness,
abdominal training and basic nutrition guidelines.
Tri FIT @ Home Program
The Tri FIT @ Home program provides motivation and
encouragement for employees who want the option of working out at home.
When
participants register for the 12- month
program they are
required to have the recommended equipment including dumbbells,
exercise tubing, mat, stability ball and optional step. We have
arranged for employees to purchase equipment packages through an
equipment supplier with stores across the country. They also receive
the Tri FIT @ Home program binder which contains detailed
exercise descriptions complete with photos, a mini self scoring fitness
assessment, heart rate and Body Mass Index charts, personal tracking
sheets, tips for keeping motivated and more.
Participants
are responsible for purchasing their
home exercise equipment and manual.
